Just as the woodpecker was especially designed to drill into hardwood for it’s daily meals, we are designed to praise God. Our DNA is assembled to bring Him glory.

My flesh is the enemy that surrounds me. The biggest battle for my soul most typically rages beneath my own skin. It’s my desires and will and preference that present the greatest threat to my obedience to God’s commands.
Jesus sets us free from the heavy burden of our own righteousness. His love and goodness allows us to set down the basket of effort: of doing it in our own strength. With hands finally free of this impossible burden, we instead can lift them in praise. We can finally, fully walk in worship.
Thank You for apprehending us in the belly of our consequence and meeting us with extraordinary grace.
I’m praying we extricate ourselves from this pandemic more thankful for public assembly than ever before.
When we enter the throne room through thanksgiving and praise, we are marking ourselves safe from the events of this world.
Jesus and the psalmist invite us to worship with all our guts, holding nothing back.
Can we lift our voices in praise while the waters are still piled up and the sky is dark and the enemy is actively giving chase?
