It seems very reasonable that in His own wilderness season, our Savior could have returned to the Red Sea and walked the very path of His people.

The forty designated stops in the wilderness afforded the Israelites time to learn live as sons and daughters of the living God. Similarly, we are transformed along our trek.
Home is not an address or a structure. It’s not a zip code or a state or a country. It’s not even a people, as I’ve previously thought. Addresses change. Buildings burn down or fall into disrepair. Zip codes boundaries are redrawn and governments crumble. People pass or pull away. If these temporary structures are our home we will always, eventually find ourselves homeless. Our permanent Home is found in our Lord alone.
we are all Israelites, living out the wilderness between the slavery of sin and the promise of Heaven. It’s inconvenient and uncomfortable, but it’s a necessary journey. These desert steps cultivate the character we require to live in the Promised Land. And God has committed to accompany us all along the way.
Every time I read of Saul’s Spirit-transformation I am reminded of my own Holy Ghost chrysalis experience.
Hallways aren’t the same as waiting rooms; this isn’t the time to settle in with a magazine or to surf the wait away on your smartphone.
Mid-journey is not the time to back-peddle our level of surrender and return to our tents.
God goes ahead of us and looks for places that will stretch our faith and multiply our trust.
