A believer’s assurance about the afterlife in the face of death is their last witness on earth.
The God of the universe never so much as closes His eyes on His kids. He never nods off or falls asleep at the wheel. He is the proverbial parent; pacing the hallways of heaven unto all His kids come home safe and sound.
Heaven my happy place. It’s the sweet respite at the end of the lane, the destination I long for with all my being.
Home is not an address or a structure. It’s not a zip code or a state or a country. It’s not even a people, as I’ve previously thought. Addresses change. Buildings burn down or fall into disrepair. Zip codes boundaries are redrawn and governments crumble. People pass or pull away. If these temporary structures are our home we will always, eventually find ourselves homeless. Our permanent Home is found in our Lord alone.
Every time I read of Saul’s Spirit-transformation I am reminded of my own Holy Ghost chrysalis experience.
Imagine what it will look like to rest and enjoy the goodness of God.
Today, in the midst of world pandemic and unprecedented fear; the cross of Christ shines even brighter.
