I don’t know about you, but ‘subverting’ isn’t a word I employ on a regular basis. Whenever I encounter an unfamiliar word in scripture, I look it up to ensure accurate understanding. ‘Subvert’ does not disappoint.
Our flesh fights it, but there is great freedom in submission.
It seems to me that Jesus was endlessly uncomfortable and frequently filthy. Somehow amidst all this dirt and difficulty, He maintained spiritual purity so strong that He could reach out and make the unclean clean again.
I wonder, what if we could see as God sees? If a prophet climbed the hill overlooking our story and got a God-picture, what would it be? I suspect His hopes for us as believers are very much like the Israelites: that we would be a people set apart for His purpose.
Moses gave the Israelites a sustained pause to look back and examine their unrighteousness.
Every day we rail against our enemy is a small sacrifice in light of the Land we are gaining.
I’m not convinced that all this time at home alone is good for the Kingdom.
