My human frailties propel me into Jesus’ presence. But spiritual maturity makes me ask: how can I serve the body of Christ today?

Lent begins today and I’ve been asking God about what I might subtract in order to make room for more of Him.
Often times we grumble instead of asking God because we aren’t living close to Him to begin with. We think His arms are too short because we haven’t fallen into them.
we are all Israelites, living out the wilderness between the slavery of sin and the promise of Heaven. It’s inconvenient and uncomfortable, but it’s a necessary journey. These desert steps cultivate the character we require to live in the Promised Land. And God has committed to accompany us all along the way.
It seems mature believers sing in all situations, wherever their tent is pitched.
We need to keep moving forward because God has give us a specific directive. If we look back, it needs to be in quick, purposeful glances.
Complaining doesn’t hurry along the gift. Complaining only agitates the heart of the Giver.
