“The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high, He will fill Zion with His justice and righteousness; He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich storehouse of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.” (Isaiah 33:5-6 NIV)
The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high.
Sometimes we need to stop and remind ourselves just Who God is. He is literally and figuratively high above us. His thinking, His standards, His perfection all happen on a different level than where we live.
He will fill Zion with His justice and righteousness.
In other words: God will make the citizens of heaven like Him. Justice and righteousness will reign forever in His eternal home.
He will be the sure foundation for your times.
We are living in strange times. Falsity and offense and immorality seem to dominate every corner of this fallen world. But God offers Himself as a sure foundation; a rock to cling to, a slab to build our lives on that will not fail.
A rich storehouse of salvation and wisdom and knowledge in Him.
Our God has all we need to navigate the strange time we are living in. He is a storehouse of every good thing this world lacks.
And the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.
We access this glorious storehouse by belief, by confessing that God is exalted. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. His ways are higher than our ways. We choose to recognize and participate in His glory and as we do, we unlock a wealth of what we desperately need to be made more like Him.
Lord, we are glad for Your glory. We acknowledge Your exaltation in the heavens and we exalt You in our own hearts. We need Your resources, but far more, we need relationship with You. We surrender in Your presence. Have Your way in our hearts today and always. You are far more glorious than we can imagine. May we spend eternity in awe of You. Amen.
