Just the act of two setting out together to do ministry in tandem invites Jesus into their work.
God is good to us, yet sometimes in the business of life, we miss it entirely. It might be easier for us to behold His goodness in the barren landscape between blessings.
His goodness chases us down until He catches us completely, and carries us into His presence entirely. Then He goes after our kids.
God is not slow in keeping His promise, we are slow in letting His promise keep us. The the journey slows down, it is grace so we can catch up to where God longs for us to live: unafraid, totally devoted, excited about the future with Him.
Men and women have been giving out of limited means from the beginning, but somehow with God, our little becomes just enough. He funds His earthly ministry through ordinary people just like us.
So what about us? Do we start and end our days with earnest acknowledgement of our spiritual need and appreciation for God’s above and beyond involvement? What systems do we have in place to moor our lives to His mercy?
Walking with Jesus demands a dying to self that is unreasonable yet inexplicable.
I wonder, what if we could see as God sees? If a prophet climbed the hill overlooking our story and got a God-picture, what would it be? I suspect His hopes for us as believers are very much like the Israelites: that we would be a people set apart for His purpose.
