The Best Wine

Friend, you don’t have to wait until the dregs of your marriage to ask for Jesus’ intervention. He comes where He is invited. Don’t just bid Him to the wedding, include Him in the marriage. Keep Him at the center of your union by praying with and for your spouse every day.

Ministry of Reconciliation

It occurs to me this morning, forgiveness is always the first step in reconciliation. Someone has to be the bigger (but maybe meeker?) person in the relationship. Thankfully for us, God has already extended grace toward us. And our only right response after receiving said grace is extending it toward others. Our mercy piece is vital because forgiveness gets people’s attention. It opens their eyes to the reality of the Kingdom.

Divine Perspective

The Pharisees failed to see themselves accurately in the narrative. We all struggle to a degree. We are all near-sighted, too selfish and too important to see the bigger picture with divine priority. This is why it is critical to engage with Jesus and ask for His perspective.

Advantages of Wilderness

In the wilderness, all that other stuff falls away. In the wilderness, life is stripped down to essentials and we can’t take another step without knowing God is with us. It is only in this parched land of perception or circumstance that we are consumed with longing for God. It is in the wilderness where we discover that He truly is enough. In the wasteland that we learn that our God really will provide all we need according to His riches and glory. In the wilderness we learn to follow closely: convinced and contingent upon His protection and provision.
