"Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” (Lamentations 3:23-24 NKJV)
Paul David Tripp reminds me anew this morning: there is grace enough for today.
I think back to the Israelite’s daily provision in the desert. The world’s first superfood was custom-made manna; fresh, just-for-them sustenance at dawn each day. It had to be tailored to the day’s activities; more protein for movement and less caloric for rest stops.

Today’s mercy is likewise. Our sovereign God sees the day coming; the hours and obligations we can’t quite yet discern. He knows the twists and turns ahead and He meets us each morning with custom-made mercy enough to exceed our needs.
His grace is recipient-specific. The grace I get is different than the grace you get, because we each have different needs, unique struggles in the day ahead. It’s not a one-size-fits-most sort of grace, but a custom-blend; made with our specific situation and disposition in mind.
The tailor-made nature of new mercy each morning makes today’s grace all the more remarkable. It is custom-crafted for each benefactor. And, like the Israelites and their manna, we find it readily when we get out of bed and go looking for it.
"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16 NKJV)
Lord, thank You for providing just-the-right grace for the demands of today. May we take the time to receive it. Meet us with fresh mercy for the day ahead as we seek to take You into every situation. Amen.
